LIPIDOMICS
Taking your understanding of lipids to the next level
We can perform an untargeted and comprehensive screening for a wide range of lipids (e.g. phospholipids, sphingolipids, glycerolipids, fatty acids, sterol esters, prenol esters) and can also monitor low abundant lipids via targeted analysis (e.g. oxylipins, phosphatidylinositol phosphate) using triple quadrupole, Q-TOF or Orbitrap mass spectrometry.
We include the necessary sample preparation steps prior analysis, such as liquid-liquid extraction, solid-phase extraction and derivatization.
We measure a wide range of lipids using a platform method based on reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC). Alternative chromatographic modes allow lipid-class and stereoisomer (cis-trans) separations. When combining different separation mechanisms in a two-dimensional set-up, ultimate lipid coverage can be obtained.
We annotate lipids using an in-house built accurate mass retention time (AMRT) library which is continuously being updated with new lipid entries.
We normalize data using an isotopically labeled lipid mix allowing comparisons across experiments.
We perform lipidomics experiments with project-specific QC samples guaranteeing validity of results.
We follow a rigorous and established game plan that helps define the right questions and determine which data will provide the answers.
